스태츠칩팩코리아는 반도체 패키징 및 테스트 분야의 선두기업으로서 통신과 무선을 포함한 다각화된 마켓 애플리케이션을 가진 세계3위 기업입니다. 미국, 유럽, 아시아 등지에 다양한 고객으로 두고 제품 디자인부터 패키징, 테스트에 이르는 통합된 서비스를 제공하고 있습니다.
스태츠칩팩코리아는 1984년 경기도 이천에 위치한 현대전자(現 SK 하이닉스) 반도체조립부분으로 출범했으며 1998년 외환 위기 때 현대전자에서 분리하여, 외국자본의 유입과 함께 미국법인 ChipPAC으로 새 출발하였고, 이후 두번의 합병을 통해 글로벌 기업으로 자리 잡았습니다.
지난 2015년 인천시 중구 자유무역지역 10만m2 부지에 공장을 완공하여 이천 공장을 이전하였고, 2016년에는 새로운 사업 확장을 위해 13만m2의 부지에 추가 공장을 건설하여 가동하고 있습니다. 지속적인 신기술 개발과 공격적 투자로 매출 증대가 늘어나고 있고 현재 임직원 4,500여명이 근무하고 있습니다.
STATS ChipPAC Korea, a leading semiconductor packaging and testing company, is the world's third-largest company, serving diverse market applications, including communications and wireless. Serving diverse clients in the US, Europe, and Asia, STATS ChipPAC Korea provides integrated services, from product design to packaging and testing.STATS ChipPAC Korea was founded in 1984 as the semiconductor assembly division of Hyundai Electronics (now SK Hynix) in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. In 1998, during the Asian financial crisis, it was spun off from Hyundai Electronics and, with the influx of foreign capital, relaunched as ChipPAC, a US subsidiary. Following two mergers, STATS ChipPAC Korea established itself as a global company.In 2015, STATS ChipPAC completed construction on a 100,000-square-meter site in the Jung-gu Free Trade Zone in Incheon, relocating its Icheon plant. In 2016, STATS ChipPAC completed construction on a 130,000-square-meter site to accommodate new business expansion and began operations. Sales are increasing significantly thanks to continuous development of new technologies and aggressive investment, and the company currently employs approximately 4,500 people.
